Despite the majority of local fixtures being postponed due to waterlogged or frozen pitches the new facilities at Monkchester ensured the U11 Walker Central and Cramlington junior squads got their game played.
With both sides looking to play quick attacking football it was the home side who raced into a 2 goal lead, Cramlington came more into the game as they forged forward and eventually the pressure told as they clawed back the deficit to make it 2-2 in the second half. With both sets of players going for the third goal it was the defenders on both sides who kept any clear scoring chances to a minimum, but it was the home side who clinched victory with a well taken finish to make the final score Walker Central 3 Cramlington Juniors 2.
Thanks must go to Neil Dilks and Cramlington juniors for providing the referee at the last minute, this due to the appointed official being delayed due to an earlier cup game going to extra time.
